Walks on the beach, sparkling sunsets, and romantic dinners are par for the course when it comes to living in Pacific Palisades. This area, overlooking the Pacific Ocean, is home to those who seek luxury.
Living in the Palisades affords residents endless opportunities for work and play. The Los Angeles job market is broad in scope and offers employment in nearly every industry, from agriculture to technology. When it comes to recreation the list grows even longer. For those who enjoy water sports, California's sandy beaches stretch for miles and miles below the cliffs of Pacific Palisades. The Palisades are just minutes from the world-famous beaches of Malibu and Santa Monica, and popular surf spots and world famous breaks are not far away. Nor is the Strand at Venice Beach, a pedestrian walkway offering up-close views of California living at its best. A bike path on the beach at Pacific Palisades stretches all the way to Palos Verdes, providing a scenic route for a coastal ride. The nearby Santa Monica mountains are filled with hiking and mountain biking trails. Skiers can hone their skills on Big Bear Mountain, only a two-hour drive from the heart of Pacific Palisades.
Another vacation spot located within two hours of the Palisades is sunny Palm Springs, with its year-round sunshine, challenging golf courses, relaxing spas and lavish resorts. When thinking about taking a vacation, residents cannot forget about the easy drives to Santa Barbara to the north and San Diego to the south. These nearby cities -- and the many others scattered throughout Southern California -- make weekend getaways pleasantly convenient. Theme parks such as Six Flags Magic Mountain and Universal Studios and Orange County attractions including Disneyland and Knott's Berry Farm are each less than an hour's drive away, making them popular destinations for families taking day trips.
With all this and more within reach, residents have plenty of choices when deciding how to spend their free time. It's not necessary to travel outside of Pacific Palisades, however, to have fun. The city is filled with extravagant restaurants, boutiques, specialty shops, parks and other gathering spots to keep even the most demanding socialite or outdoor aficionado satisfied. There are also several community events that take place throughout the year, drawing thousands to the city's streets and parks. Such attractions include parades, charity walks, festivals, arts and crafts shows, garden tours, art exhibitions, music concerts and city fairs. These events instill pride in the community and the residents of Pacific Palisades are certainly proud to be citizens of such a prosperous city.
The consistent upkeep and maintenance of city streets and public gathering areas makes the Palisades one of the cleanest areas in Los Angeles County. The neighborhoods are safe, the school system is excellent and the complex network of roads running out of the city makes transportation simple, even on the busiest of days. Combine all this with the area's appealing climates and steady ocean breezes and Pacific Palisades is an extremely attractive place to call home. If you are considering a move to the Greater Los Angeles Area and are eager to experience the excitement of this unique city, but are not exactly prepared to reside amongst the chaos, consider the peace and tranquility found in the rolling hills of Pacific Palisades. From up there, the City of Lights looks more like the City of Angels.
